# SilentCut

> SilentCut is a free, privacy-first, in-browser audio and video silence remover. It automatically detects and cuts silent pauses, dead air, and vocal hesitation using client-side WebAssembly (FFmpeg) with zero server uploads, and exports ready-to-edit timeline sequences for DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premiere Pro.

SilentCut runs entirely on the user's device inside modern web browsers (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, Brave) using WebAssembly multi-threading and the Web Audio API. Media files are processed locally in RAM and never transmitted across the network, guaranteeing total confidentiality for sensitive voice recordings, business meetings, podcasts, and video footage.

- **Zero Server Uploads**: 100% private, client-side WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm) processing.
- **Supported Audio Formats**: MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG, AAC.
- **Supported Video Formats**: MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI.
- **Voice Activity Detection (VAD)**: Root Mean Square (RMS) volume analysis with configurable Decibel Threshold (-60 dB to -10 dB), Minimum Silence Duration (50 ms to 2000 ms), and Speech Padding buffer (0 ms to 500 ms).
- **Interactive Editing**: Visual waveform canvas showing active speech (green) and cut segments (red), individual segment toggling, and real-time skip-silence auditioning.
- **NLE Timeline Export**: Generates Edit Decision Lists (EDL) for Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve, FCPXML for Apple Final Cut Pro, and XML sequences for Adobe Premiere Pro.
